Leeds PR student Sadie Edwards has been telling fellow students how to compete for a coveted work placement on the London Stock Exchange and £1,000 prize money.
As part of her work placement with us as a 2009 Claire Mascall PR Prize winner, she helped to promote the 2010 award to third-year PR degree students at Leeds Metropolitan University and potential sponsors.
The Claire Mascall PR Prize has been established in memory of one of the PR industry's most respected practitioners. Launched last year by her family in memory of Claire Mascall, who had a 35-year career in corporate relations, latterly as Head of Corporate Affairs for the London Stock Exchange, it aims to be an annual award for the University.
For the 2010 award, students are being asked to examine public relations for the 2010 general election and compare it with previous election campaigns, within the context of the country's economy.
The prize winner will receive a two week placement with the London Stock Exchange and support the communications team during their critical first quarter result announcement and the Annual General Meeting.
Full details of the 2010 Claire Mascall PR Prize are available at www.clairemascallprprize.co.uk.
MCG's Christine Mortimer sits on the judging panel for the award and has also joined the Advisory Board for Leeds Metropolitan University's Faculty of Business and Law, which incorporates the PR degree course.
