MCG gives a new meaning to meals on wheels

Our new London office was converted into a busy kitchen in January when the MCG team undertook a three-day desk drop blitz for our Weight Watchers clients Greencore and Icefresh. The MCG Weight Watchers team visited more than 25 publications delivering piping hot lunches and indulgent iced desserts to food and lifestyle journalists at their desks all over the city.

Senior Account Manager Katie Hayes masterminded the campaign, she says: "It's great to be able to link our two Weight Watchers foods clients together for activity like this because it means we can offer them a really cost-effective way to enable journalists to experience their products first hand."

Greencore's newly developed Chicken Casserole with Dumplings and Chilli Beef and Potato Wedges were delivered piping hot from the MCG oven, with Icefresh's new Chocolate Mini Sticks as a tempting treat to follow in individual cool bags. Katie says: "By delivering the products in optimum condition, ready to eat, at the right time of day we were able to get great results for both clients."

The coverage as a result of the deskdrops has been impressive and immediate with Zest tweeting about the visit whilst the MCG team was still in the building. We have since secured hits in target magazines and newspapers including The Daily Star, Chat!, Best, Woman, Reveal, Closer and Woman's Own.
