Damart raise money for Heart Research UK with help from MCG
Following the success of its pink vest campaign which has raised more than £90k for Breast Cancer Campaign, leading home shopping fashion brand Damart decided to increase its support for key charities and with help from MCG linked up with Heart Research UK to design a limited edition t-shirt with all profits going to the charity.
The t-shirt was modelled by Grease is the Word star, Susan McFadden and has so far raised more than £6,000 for pioneering, life-saving research into cardiovascular disease, the biggest killer of women over the age of 50. As most of Damart's customers are older women, MCG suggested Heart Research UK as a perfect fit when Damart showed interest in looking for another charity to support.
To help MCG to generate plenty of media coverage we secured help from Susan McFadden, the lovely star of west end show Grease. Susan took time out of her busy acting schedule to model the t-shirt that featured a design of the Heart Research UK logo surrounded by a diamante heart with a Damart tag on the sleeve.
With Susan's help and a strong product made exclusively for a good cause, we were given the chance to create media hits for Damart in the women's weekly magazines as well as strong coverage online and in regional newspapers across the country. Following the success of this year's t-shirt plans are already underway for a 2009 t-shirt to be modelled by Hollyoaks' star, Sarah Jayne Dunn (Mandy).
