Harpers Fitness name their Heroes
Tears, cheers and celebration were the order of the evening on Friday 30 October as our client Leisure Connection celebrated its first ever Harpers Heroes Awards for its consumer brand Harpers Fitness.
Earlier this year we came up with the idea to launch an awards initiative to reward, celebrate and recognise the achievements of the thousands of members and customers of Harpers Fitness. Not only was it a great way to create a sense of excitement in the clubs, but it generated a great deal of positive media stories both regionally and nationally.
After months of planning and judging as well as PR-ing the initiative it culminated with a glitzy award ceremony. Hosted at the prestigious Bisham Abbey the event was unforgettable for winners, runners up, suppliers and staff alike.
Star of ITV's Britain's Biggest Loser Richard Callender was the guest speaker and inspired the audience with tales of dedication, hardwork and commitment.
But the true stars of the show were the members and customers who had made the shortlist. Their stories replayed on the big screens were fantastic and with five winners and two runners up in each category as well as an overall winner who was the proud recipient of £3,000 it was a memorable event.
The event went a huge success and the team is already thinking about Harpers Heroes 2010. Coverage is still coming in but to date we have achieved more than 50 pieces in the regional media that are Harpers Fitness's key focus for PR.
