Internal communications for CP Foods
As many of you will know PR is much more than communication with the outside world – communicating regularly with your staff is always a good starting point and an important ingredient for any PR and communications programme.
Keeping everyone informed
Many of our clients come to us with a media relations brief aiming to increase their profile and communicate particular messages to the outside world. But communicating regularly with your staff is often a good starting point and an important ingredient for any PR and communications programme. Our client CP Foods is a great example.
The team here at MCG has been working with CP Foods, one the largest food companies in Asia, to increase its profile in the UK but, first on our list of things to do was launch, manage and establish an effective internal communications programme.
After appointing a team of stringers from across the business who are acting as our eyes and ears we created and launched the first CP News – a four page colour newsletter, which contained all the latest news and information from across the business including appointments, births and marriages, news from the Board and updates from the teams in Thailand.
Kim Phillips, Client Support Manager for CP who oversees the internal communications strategy comments: "The feedback from the newsletter has been better than we expected. Everyone's really positive and look forward to the next issue. We have also developed a Polish version for our polish workers, which is working well. Giving the ownership to staff has made a big difference – they want to be part of it and regularly feed stories into the publication."
MCG makes the whole process painless and it's great fun working with them. We have plenty more planned as part of our strategy, which is very exciting."
Sarah Chadwick adds: "Internal comms is extremely important and it's currently forming the backbone of our external media and PR programme."
