I had been desperate to go to The Long Table, the pop up outdoor food night market in Dalston since hearing about from my friend Yas. I finally made time to go last Friday and it certainly lived up to the hype.

It’s fair to say I’m a bit of a fashion junkie. I’m not saying I’m always head to toe in the latest clobber featured in the pages of Vogue- which normal 26 year old is?! Nor do I embrace every single fashion trend with open arms and great enthusiasm, as let’s face it, most are [...]

After a busy week Dave (him indoors) took me to Meat Liquor, the hotly anticipated new restaurant from the geniuses behind The Meat Wagon. Yanni and Giles have created something very special just behind Debenhams on Oxford Street, a proper burger oasis.

It’s a week since the big MCG move and we’re loving our new Leeds home. We’re still unpacking the big blue crates but we’ve had time to compile a quick moving top 12 to help us find new places for everything and build that furniture:

I was privileged to hear the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Guest Lecture at Leeds Metropolitan University last night.
Students on the PR degree course heard Professor Anne Gregory, Director of the University’s excellent Centre for Public Relations Studies, deliver a resounding call to action to these future PR practitioners to harness the full power – and responsibility – of authentic communication in the new globally connected information highway.

As the work experience girl at MCG, I expected to be making endless cups of tea, and alphabetically organising hundreds of files, so I was delighted when Rachel asked me to run their weekly taste test.
The food in question today was raspberry flavoured yoghurts. I know what you’re thinking; can eight products made up of milk and raspberries really taste that different? As we found out, the answer was yes, very!

I remember turning up on my first day at MCG as a young, shy, teen not knowing what to expect from the big daunting world of work. As the days at MCG continued, I was always looking forward to the next day not knowing what job I would be given. From writing press releases, research work and blogging, to jobs such as cuttings and mail outs, I’ve pretty much done a selection of exciting tasks. Okay, well not all of the jobs were exciting. You have your repetitive ones, but someone has to do them!

When I won eleven brand new paperbacks from MCG I didn’t know what to do because I’d never taken possession of more than six new books in one go before. So, naturally, I pretended I was a Booker Prize judge. And then I put them in an artfully wonky pile and took a photograph of them.
I looked at the titles, read the blurb, fondled the covers, read the review quotes, checked how many chapters they had, read the first lines, fanned the pages, smelt their scent, made a cup of tea and then put them in an artfully wonky pile again. I did all the procrastinating things people who supposedly like reading do before they start reading. And eventually I did start to read one of them. I’ve now read four and here’s what I thought of them.

Anyone looking at MCG’s branding will guess that we love a bit of colour, so I was delighted to see the new Leeds City Region logo at the Local Enterprise Partnership Summit at the Royal Armouries today. It’s a real celebration of local colour
The coloured circles, each represent one of the ten districts which make up the Region: Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby. Wakefield and York, created a colourful rainbow of balloons on the screens above the heads of 750-plus public sector chiefs and leaders of private business which made up the audience.
