Sorry I’ve been away for a short time, I’ve been busy delivering parcels.

After a busy week Dave (him indoors) took me to Meat Liquor, the hotly anticipated new restaurant from the geniuses behind The Meat Wagon. Yanni and Giles have created something very special just behind Debenhams on Oxford Street, a proper burger oasis.

I like to think I’ve sampled some good burgers in my time, from Le Parker Meridien in New York to FergBurger in Queenstown, New Zealand. Meat Liquor has definitely joined my list of top notch burgers; in fact I think it might come close to topping it.

It’s not just the burgers that impress at Meat Liquor it’s the full shebang. We got deep fried pickles to start; the batter was light and the pickles full of vinegar. For mains Dave went for the Dead Hippie; two patties of meat on a brioche bun packed to the rafters with lettuce, onions, pickles and secret sauce.

I opted for the Bacon Cheese Burger; one huge rare patty of juicy meat, bacon and cheese. Simple. We shared onion rings and fries. Salty and not greasy. All in all one of the best burger experiences of my life. And for £7 a burger the price is perfect.

The Liquor part of the restaurant is also a joy. With a full and fun cocktail list what more could a girl want on a Wednesday night?!
