The struggle for local producers

As an advocate for Yorkshire produce I’m always proud as punch when I spot a Yorkshire producer in the national press. Regional food has seen a boom in recent years, be that because of the recession or because people have finally realised that the less your food has to travel to reach your plate, generally the fresher it will taste.

I’ve been working with local Yorkshire producers for the past couple of years and am always so impressed with their genuine enthusiasm for the food they produce and create. My colleague Katie (another self confessed food addict) and I have just completed the first round of journalist desk drops, for which we teamed up with deliciouslyorkshire and five regional producers with national listings. The response we received was overwhelmingly positive, with journalists delving straight into the scrumptious Miniature Bakery Chocolate Snaps.

Even better than the journalists responses, was the relief felt by the producers after hearing how well received their products had been. It’s always great delivering good news, but even better when it’s fully deserved!

I’ve put on about three stone thanks to the team at Miniature Bakery for creating these bad boys.
