My career path into PR started at the age of 14 as a school girl, when I had to decide which sector I wanted to do my two weeks work experience in. I wanted to get involved in events management until I was told about the glamorous world of PR. It was the busy lifestyle; working with people and the fact that every day was a different day that got me intrigued in PR.
What other way was there to find out what it would be like to be a PR girly other than doing work experience? That’s when I came across MCG PR, a local award winning PR agency that has worked with many well-known clients.
I remember turning up on my first day at MCG as a young, shy, teen not knowing what to expect from the big daunting world of work. As the days at MCG continued, I was always looking forward to the next day not knowing what job I would be given. From writing press releases, research work and blogging, to jobs such as cuttings and mail outs, I’ve pretty much done a selection of exciting tasks. Okay, well not all of the jobs were exciting. You have your repetitive ones, but someone has to do them!
My two weeks work experience at MCG was coming to an end. I had a really great two weeks gaining valuable work experience and loved the lively atmosphere in the MCG office. I decided to further my PR experience by doing more work experience with MCG every year during my holidays.
Four years on and I’m still here, doing one day a week of work experience whilst continuing my Business Management degree. I’m really enjoying working with a group of lovely, funny and welcoming ladies at MCG and I’d like to thank them because without them I wouldn’t be in the fantastic position I’m in now.

Amanjit your commitment has been amazing! I am so proud of the lady you are becoming and I can definitely see the positive effects that MCG has had on you. You are a credit to them as they are to you. I wish you and MCG every success!
