This year MCG hits the big 1-0. That’s right, double figures. To celebrate we are embarking upon a wide range of challenges throughout the year. This month’s challenge has been inspired by World Book Night – the book giveaway in which 1 million books will be distributed to the public across the UK and Ireland on Saturday. Although we won’t be taking part in the celebration of all things literary on quite the same scale, MCG has compiled a list of our favourite reads. We will each be enjoying the range of stories and will also, at some point this month, be giving our Twitter followers the chance to win the full set.
Following two weeks of book chatter we can finally announce the grand, varied but fabulous, MCG Book Club Challenge list:
- Dry, Augusten Burroughs
- Room, Emma Donoghue
- A Star Called Henry, Roddy Doyle
- The Railway Children, E Nesbit
- The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
- A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini
- Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen
- The Wedding Officer, Anthony Capella
- The Complete Stories of Truman Capote, Truman Capote
- Birdsong, Sebastian Faulkes
- The Music Room, William Fiennes
