With Leisure Industry Week (LIW) taking place at the NEC this week, we took the opportunity to go along and see what’s what and who’s who in the leisure and fitness industry.
Having not been to LIW before I didn’t really know what to expect; on arrival we were greeted with thumping beats, Gatorade, lycra, weird and wonderful training equipment and toned bodies…needless to say it lived up to expectations in every way – a couple of the highlights for us MCG girls being the surf simulator and a glimpse of Iwan Thomas (not a bad compromise for a 6am start).
We’re always keen to make sure we’re on the cusp of trends for our clients so we we were keen to investigate the trends making an appearance at LIW. Our latest client Premier Training International was one of the exhibitors and it was great to see its stand so busy. Drawing in the crowds was Premier’s health, fitness and nutrition lecturer, Richard Scrivener, who was demonstrating the new fitness craze, Power Clubs.
After a busy day at LIW working our way around the hundreds of stands that were demonstrating the very latest the industry had to offer, we headed back up the M1 with our goody bags of magazines, pens and year’s supply of key-rings.
